Sans Brains

Here is the trailer for American Gangster in-case none of you have heard of it.

Let me just say that I was in a great mood today when I saw this movie. After winning $75 playing cards I went across the street from my house to see this movie.

A couple thoughts about the flick.

• Long - This movie is around 2 and a half hours. I’ve sat through longer movies that were way worse than this one ( Pearl Harbor ) so the length didn’t really bother me. It is something to know before going though.
• Predictable - You can pretty much tell what’s going to happen next in this movie. Which isn’t exactly a bad thing. If you just want to sit back, relax for a few hours and see a movie that will entertain the hell out of you, this is it.
• Not in-depth enough - This movie could have easily been 4 hours long. And if it was I would have sat through every minute of it. Maybe it’s because I’m a huge fan of these types of movies, or maybe it’s because these characters had a lot to say and weren’t given enough time to say it.

I could compare this movie to Blow, but instead of coke it was heroin. They are similar as they follow one drug smuggler. Although Frank Lucas is more of a bad ass than George Jung. 

If I had to give this movie a ranking out of 10, 10 being the best and 1 being the worst, this movie would get a solid 7.
